The Lightstone Group Signs Dollar General to Long-Term Lease in New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FLA. (May 18, 2010) – The Lightstone Group announced that Dollar General has signed a 10-year, 11,300-square-foot lease at its New Smyrna Beach Shopping Center in New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

Dollar General has been a tenant at the New Smyrna Beach Shopping Center for nearly 20 years and with this new lease extension, has also added an additional 4,500 square feet of retail selling space.

Dollar General is the nation’s largest small-box discount retailer, making shopping for every day needs simpler and hassle free. Dollar General stores make available a wide assortment of the most popular brands, including Procter & Gamble, Kimberly Clark, Unilever, Kellogg’s, General Mills and Nabisco.

“We’re pleased to continue our relationship with Dollar General,” said Jeffrey Dash, vice president of leasing for The Lightstone Group. “They’ve enjoyed tremendous success at the New Smyrna Beach Shopping Center and with their relocation and expansion, we expect a greater customer base. The New Smyrna Beach Shopping Center, a 101,321-square-foot shopping center, is conveniently located near major Volusia County roads, and serves as a routine stop for many of the local residents. The center is also home to the EPIC Beacon Theatre, Parts Depot, a major U.S. distributor and reseller of automotive parts and Sears Hardware, one of the country’s leading retailers of appliances, hardware, electronic and lawn and garden equipment. Other tenants include McKenna’s Restaurant, a long term tenant catering to the community, Sherman Williams and McGee Tire Service.
